Janet Van Dyne, or the Wasp, is a character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She debuted in Ant-Man, which was released in 2015, played by Evangeline Lilly. Van Dyne is the daughter of Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the former Ant-Man and Wasp, respectively. In 2015, she met Scott Lang, who she trained in combat to become the next Ant-Man and helped him infiltrate Cross Technologies to defeat Darren Cross. Her father soon after showed her a prototype for a new Wasp suit[1]. In 2018, Van Dyne finally donned the suit, teaming up with Lang to retrieve her long-lost mother from the Quantum Realm. Soon after doing so, Lang entered the Quantum Realm to collect healing particles for Ghost. During this time, Van Dyne was killed by Thanos' Decimation along with her parents[2]. In 2023, she and and all of the Decimation's victims were revived by the Hulk. Van Dyne then fought alongside the Avengers to defeat an alternate Thanos in the Battle of Earth[3].
